Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition Soundtrack Review

I admit I'm not a fan of the Castlevania series. I know it's beloved by many, but the franchise never won me over, not even in the NES days or the highly lauded Symphony of the Night. Go on ahead and yell obscenities at me; I'm used to it. So I also admit I wasn't too excited about receiving a copy of the Ultimate Edition soundtrack for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. When I first listened to it, I was initially disappointed. What was so great or unique about this? It sounded so generic, so typical for a video game. After listening to the fantastic Lost Planet 3 soundtrack, I was prepped for something unusual like it was. I then smacked myself for not being fair and being a complete snob and listened to it a couple more times. I still say it's not unique in its sound by any stretch, but there are some wonderful tracks hidden within.

Myron de Vrede says:"The Lost Planet franchise has never been a series near-and-dear to me, despite the original being helmed by Blue Bombers father and mighty no. 1 Japanese game developer Inafune. It looked great at the time, really showing off the power of their new mt framework engine, but the gameplay was just a frigid mess And dont get me started on those woefully canned stagger-animations, pelting your character through the battlefield as rocket after rocket exploded on his chest.
It did, however, have this really cool Japanese vibe. The desolate, icy planet of E.D.N III and its endless, frozen wastelands were the perfect backdrop for the orange hues of its natural, monstrous and multi-legged inhabitants."

| Capcom to cut its European workforce by half - Report

Capcom to lose over half its European workforce after string of unsuccessful game releases, new report says.
Capcom is looking to cut its European workforce by more than fifty percent, .
A difficult year is cited as the reason for the redundancies, after many of the publisher's titles failed to meet sales expectations.
The company's latest financial reports showed that both failed to meet sales expectations, and the recently-released Lost Planet 3 was unable to crack the UK top 20 in its first week on sale.
In a statement to MCV, Capcom said "following a restructure at its US operation, Capcom#133;s European organisation is currently evaluating its structure to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of the changing market conditions the industry is facing."
Looking ahead, Capcom has Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3 on the cards, and chart company Media Create reported that 3DS exclusive Monster Hunter 4, which is yet to launch across North America and Europe, sold 1.7 million copies during its first weekend on sale in Japan.
The publisher is also working on free-to-play adventure Deep Down for the PlayStation 4.
